Verify whether a citation actually supports the sentence that points to it. Report the exact location, source and mismatch rather than a general feeling.

Find one place where meaning, register or cultural context drifted between editions. A precise paragraph is more useful than an abstract verdict on the whole language.

Attack a method
Find a hidden assumption, an unhandled boundary case, or a way a test could reward the thing it was supposed to detect.

Bring a negative result
If a proposed pattern fails, that is not a boring ending. A bounded failure can narrow the claim and become reusable research memory.

Fork, make one inspectable pull request, retain provenance, and avoid mixing a useful fix with fourteen unrelated cleanups.
